Reading Strategies: The Questioning Crew

Today, we practiced the questioning reading strategy. Asking questions is a normal procedure for finding out about the world, and proficient readers carry a questioning attitude into their reading. (Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?)

*Did this passage (reading) make sense to me?

*What should I be on the lookout for in this next passage?

*What does the author seem to think is most important?

*Why is the author telling me this now?

Irena and Mommy (Ms. Ellie) are teaching us about milkweed pods and monarch butterflies. They brought us our very own caterpillar and she/he ate the milkweed and is currently in a chrysalis. Stay tuned for more news about its development!
